Each Monllor Rod is handcrafted in traditional fashion, ensuring you the unsurpassed feel, simplicity of casting and characteristic beauty for which they are known.

Quality of materials used is of prime importance in a Monllor Rod, from elegantly hand lathed reel seats made of the finest select lumber and hand turned nickel silver components, to the highest quality seasoned cane available, culminating in a beautiful finish.

Monllor rods are of a six strip, hand planed construction, available in either two or three piece models. They are of medium action, and all though designed with the wet fly fisher in mind, they are suitable for both wet and dry fly fishing. Each rod comes with two tips and is custom made to order.

All flies offered at Monllor Rods are hand tied by Ren Monllor, using the finest materials available to the fly tyer, with an eye towards proportion, neatness and balance.
Knowing that insects from each part of the country have their own appearance, you are invited to submit photos and descrptions of the insect you are trying to imitate and I will do my very best in tying your flies to those specifications given.

We here at Monllor Rods are proud to offer skins and feathers from Veniard's and Cookshill for all of your wet fly tying needs. Without question, the quality of their products, has given  both companies the highest reputation for quality merchandise that you will find anywhere.

We now also carry the complete line of Grip Hooks. Testing and comparing these hooks recently, I have discovered that in as much as they are lighter, they are just as strong as the more common hooks sold by others.
